67-year-old Carolyn Scamahorn of Concord Township has a reason she wants to lose 40 pounds by June -- that's when her 50th high school reunion takes place. She knows it won't take her back to the 98 pounds she weighed when she graduated, but she said it'll give her confidence when she faces her classmates.

Since my journey into weight loss a couple of things have changed in my life. Today for the first time this season I can tell my golf ball is traveling further than last year. I also have a lot more energy even though I'm older. I also feel lighter when I walk (my shoes aren't as heavy). I believe my personality has changed a little also (I'm not as grumpy).

rain, rain go away!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to blame it on the weather for the slow down in weight loss. I need sunshine to help shed these pounds. I can't play golf or take my long walks on the bike path. If I lose 6 oz for this weight in I will be happy.

The time has come
I made an oath to myself that starting monday, NO MORE CARBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. In order to reach my personal goal by the 1st of July I have to lose 10lbs in May and another 10 or 12 in June. If I'm not golfing I will be walking at least 3 to 5 miles a day, (my poor dog with her short little legs). I have been working in the yard, which helps a little bit. As long as the rain stays away during the day I think I should be able to do it. I sorted through my shorts for golf today and only 1 pair was too big for me and that's not good. NO MORE BREAD, CHIPS, BAGELS, AND NACHO'S, FRENCH FRIES OR COKE!!!!!! I got to drink that clear stuff called water.
